The Solution

BMC worked with WaveOn to build their Masterpiece frame. Hand-built, individually numbered and retailing for over $10,000, Masterpiece frames are some of the best hardware you can own. As such, owners are part of an exclusive group of riders so the integrated module offers authentication, support and exclusive privileges to riders. 


Importantly, the manufacturing process not only broke new ground in carbon design, but the NFC integration allows centralized process and QA data analysis across separate manufacturing facilities – ensuring better products and smarter processes.

Step 1

BMC wanted to be first to market with a top-tier frameset that pushed the limits of carbon design while adding technology that helps drive user engagement.

Step 2

WaveOn helped BMC integrate NFC modules into its high-end Masterpiece frameset, creating a branded destination that better explains features and benefits of the bicycles.

Step 3

The innovation was picked up by cycling press and its results have led BMC to expand usage of WaveOn’s Smart Carbon technology and NFC integration to its entire range of world class bikes.

BMC set out to raise its own bar with the “Masterpiece” edition and approached WaveOn with a desire to collaborate on a top-tier frameset that pushed the known limits of carbon design. Drawing on WaveOn’s expertise and library of patented carbon fiber NFC integrations, BMC selected our Smart Carbon  technology that can not only stand up to the rigors of the Masterpiece’s complex manufacturing process, but to any conditions the bicycle finds itself in.
